Human Resources Generalist/Manager

We are seeking a full-time, experienced Human Resources Generalist/Manager to join our team. This position provides generalist support in key areas including benefits, employment, and employee relations, and ensures compliance with various state, local and federal labor laws. The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, be reliable, and work well with the rest of the team.


Responsibilities include:

  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Provide counsel, support and guidance on less complex associate relations concerns and complaints ensuring compliance with employment laws, Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Respond to and resolves daily associate questions and issues on a variety of subjects.
  • Process daily paperwork (address changes, rate changes, reviews, disciplinary actions, applications for transfer, etc.)
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and special projects as required, assigned, or directed with or without accommodations.


Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and requirements that relate to human resource practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and adjust to sudden changes in workflow.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently, take corrective action, and to resolve employee inquiries and requests for information
  • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to maintain all job-related information in a confidential and private manner.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite and Internet software.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • Benefits or PHR/SPHR certification a plus.


Desired Experience:

  • Between 2 and 5 years Human Resource experience or equivalent combination of education and experience


Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours may be required to meet deadlines, handle unusual workloads or to accomplish organizational priorities.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written information such as procedure manuals, company communications or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods in one location which may be restricted to the employee’s workstation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must love dogs and be comfortable around and sharing spaces with them.
