Become an Old Friends Forever Foster!

Open your home and heart to a senior dog through our Forever Foster Program. Old Friends provides ongoing support and care while you give them the love, comfort, and companionship they deserve.

About our Foster Program

Our primary goal at Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary is to find lifelong placements where our Old Friends can live the remainder of their lives as part of a loving family. Most of the Old Friends you see at The PAWvillions are looking for their own Geezer Guardian(s).

While some of our seniors have medical or mobility challenges, many are still full of energy and have a lot of love to give. Through donations, we provide all veterinary care — including prescription food, medications, and preventatives — for the dogs living with Geezer Guardians for the rest of their lives. For dogs who are not on a prescription diet, we ask that Geezer Guardians provide their food.

Being a Geezer Guardian is different from traditional fostering programs offered by many rescues. Our dogs are placed in forever foster homes, where they can spend the rest of their lives surrounded by love and care.

Geezer Guardians must live within a 100-mile radius of Mt. Juliet, TN, as we require our Old Friends to receive care from our in-house veterinarian. If you live outside our 100-mile radius and would like to adopt a senior dog, we encourage you to contact your local shelter. There are many senior dogs across the country looking for loving retirement homes.

After applying to become a Geezer Guardian, you will be contacted by our Foster Program Manager via email. We’ll check your veterinary reference and complete a virtual home visit. Once the application process is complete and you’re approved, we’ll schedule an appointment for you to meet some of our Old Friends.

Because our primary goal is to place senior dogs in safe, loving
forever homes, we do not charge any fees to become a Geezer Guardian. However, we always gratefully accept donations to help provide lifelong care for our Old Friends.

Geezer Guardians must live within 100 travel miles of Mt. Juliet, TN, as we expect our Old Friends to continue seeing our in-house veterinarian. Please see the map below for a reference map.

If you live outside our 100-mile radius and would like to adopt a senior dog, we encourage you to contact your local shelter as there are senior dogs everywhere in need of loving retirement homes.
