Providing Lifetime Homes & Care to Senior Dogs
Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary began in 2012 after the founders realized the need for a place dedicated to senior dogs. Senior dogs entering the shelter and rescue system have a harder chance at placement often due to their medical needs. This is where we come in. Our goal is to ensure senior dogs have a safe and welcoming place to spend the remainder of their lives.
After outgrowing the first location, our current building- the PAWvillions opened in 2021. This start of the art facility has over 20,000 square feet of indoor space, on 9 acres that include grassy and wooded spaces.
Life for our Old Friends at The PAWvillions includes communal living spaces, indoor play areas, some private suites with individual play yards, a complete veterinary clinic with rehabilitation area to provide care to all of our old friends. We have outdoor yards for all of our dogs to enjoy fresh areas and open space, a splash pad for water plays and even a wooded trail for dogs to enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of nature.
Since 2012, Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary has welcomed more than 1,400 senior dogs into its program. We average 80 to 100 Old Friends living at the sanctuary and while in transition to a forever foster home and over 400 living in forever homes with Geezer Guardians. We provide high-quality care to these 500+ seniors for life.
