Volunteer Opportunities

Dog Walking

Taking senior dogs for walks and stroller rides around The PAWvillions grounds

Laundry

Running cycles of laundry to help keep the sanctuary clean and organized

Compassionate Care

Socializing with mobility challenged pups and learning about how Old Friends addresses our dogs’ special needs.

Barkley Buddies

Spending one-on-one time socializing with geezers who are dog selective in their personalized suites

Splash Pad (outside, weather permitting)

Spending time with the dogs on our senior-approved Splash Pad and see how they really open up on their “turf”

Volunteer Docent

Bringing small groups of guests (no more than 6) on a guided tour of the PAWvillions

Playdates

Taking our geezers on field trips off-site for activities and adventures 

Sleepovers

Spending the night-or-as long as you want- with an Old Friend in the comfort of your own home

Local Events

Managing and transporting dogs, assisting with set-up and break down, and representing the Old Friends brand at events on and/or off-site

Seasonal: Hikes & Strolls

Long walks and stroller rides on the PAWvillions’ on-site wooded trail, alongside your fellow volunteers

Other Volunteer Opportunities:

Get Started

  1. Start by filling out our Volunteer Application form on our wbsite.

  2. From there, you will receive instrcutions and a link to complete the eLearning Orientation via e-mail.

  3. Sign up for the in-person Volunteer Orientation Tour. Volunteer Orientation Tours are held almost every Wednesday and Saturday at 10am. The tour typically lasts about 45 minutes and focuses on areas that you will have the opportunity to volunteer in. Orientation slots fill up quickly, so book your spot now!

Upon completion of the in-person orientation, you will be able to begin training and volunteer at your convenience. We recommend volunteering at least once a month, as consistency helps build familiarity with the dogs and with the different volunteer roles we have to offer.
