Lil’ Bit
“Hello there, woof! I’m Lil’ Bit, once part of a cherished trio with my parents, the late Old Friends Pandora and Bear. Now, I’m gracefully navigating life as a solo pup after their journey over the Rainbow Bridge. My time at PAWVillions has been an absolute delight, although I do approach new faces with a hint of caution, often expressing my curiosity with a friendly bark. This is why I’d thrive as the sole canine companion in my new home! Despite being a senior, my spirit remains ever-youthful, always ready for thrilling adventures and lively playdates with my beloved toys. I’m on the hunt for my perfect Geezer Guardian! If you believe we’re a paw-some match, let’s arrange a meeting!”

Bear, alongside Pandora and Lil Bit, formed an iconic chocolate trio family. His love was boundless, and his loyalty unwavering towards those he held dear. Bear embodied the essence of an angel within a dog’s body. He made many friends with other Old Friends, volunteers and staff. The memories of his warm greetings, accompanied by affectionate kisses to the face and joyful wagging tails, will be deeply missed.
As told by her favorite caretaker, “Pandora (aka Dora or Dori) was the mom and protector of her room, Station Waggin’, and all of her people. She was a faithful companion to her caretakers and following close by or cuddling with them was her favorite way to spend her retirement. Pandora was such a sweet, gentle soul who let her furry family take the spotlight, as many moms do, but her personality was also bigger than anyone expected. She loved her humans with every fiber of her little body and would go into mama bear mode at the drop of a hat. Her sweet and spunky personality will never be forgotten or replaced.”
Hi, Future Geezer Guardian!
Our primary goal at OFSDS is to find lifelong placements for senior dogs where they can live the remainder of their lives as a part of a family. Most of our Old Friends that you see at the Sanctuary are available through our forever foster program.
Through sponsorships, donations, and grants, we provide medical care and basic needs to the dogs living in forever foster homes.
Being a Geezer Guardian to an Old Friend is different than fostering for other rescues in that we hope that our Guardians will be forever homes for the remainder of their Geezer’s life. Geezer Guardians must be within 100 miles of Mt. Juliet, TN, as we expect our Old Friends to continue seeing our in-house veterinarian. If you live outside our 100-mile radius and would like to adopt a senior dog, we recommend contacting your local shelter as there are many senior dogs in need of loving retirement homes. You may also consider sponsoring an Old Friend by clicking “Sponsor” on that Old Friend’s profile page!
Because our main goal is to place senior dogs in safe, lifetime homes, we do not charge any fees. For more information or to apply to be a Geezer Guardian, click here.
