Coco Puff

From her Geezer Guardian: “From the first days of her ‘temporary 2 week stay’ during Covid, Coco Puff (Puff, Puffmeister, Miss Puff, Puffer-nutter, Shimmy Shimmy Coco Puff and more) had me wrapped around her paws. I said often that I won the dog lottery with Puff. I’d never had a pit bull and was curious what her personality would be like. I quickly learned Puff was super loving, highly intelligent, very trainable, and wasn’t fond of being left alone. She was ok with it, but she was in heaven when her ‘pack’ (me and neighbors) was all in one room with her. She adored the sanctuary’s PT team; every week I’d say, ‘You get to go swim with PT today,’ and she’d shake her butt and light up. She absolutely loved people and thought every person should want to give her pets and treats. I can’t count the amount of extra treats she pilfered out of the sanctuary staff. My friends called her the ‘meh’ dog because to almost anything she’d look nonchalantly as if to say, ‘Meh. You’re not worth a reaction.’ Her exceptions were deer, high-pitched noises, turtles, and a couple of other dogs that I never figured out the reasoning. She constantly reminded me to slow down and not sweat the small stuff. She was a special dog that took a piece of my heart with her when she went to meet Jesus. I know that one day when I meet Jesus face to face he will have her waiting with him. I cannot say enough thank you’s to all the OFSDS staff and medical team that took such wonderful care of Puff and in turn served me with compassion. I will always treasure the love you poured into Puff and the hugs you provided during those end days. Your hard work, dedication, and servanthood to our senior doggos is admirable and a blessed gift to our community.”
