From his Geezer Guardians, our founders: “Although Gustav did not stay with the Home Gang long, he remained part of the Home Gang when he returned to the sanctuary and hung out during the days with Zina and Michael and Holly and Barry in their office. Gustav’s mobility was declining over the past several months and he underwent surgery to repair a bulging disk several weeks ago. For a while, the recovery was going very well, but Gustav suffered some severe setbacks over the past few weeks that diminished his quality of life and left him in great pain. The difficult, and most humane decision was made to help him to the Rainbow Bridge.”
