“Greetings! I’m Jake, a good-looking Bernese Mountain Dog mix. I’m super smart, a great listener, and just an overall happy guy! I get along famously with all dogs and people – I want to be everyone’s friend! I enjoy going for walks and curling up on the couch, and am easy to please. I experienced a vestibular episode (a sudden disturbance of balance) shortly after my arrival to the sanctuary. Symptoms include a head tilt, disorientation, or irregular eye movement. There are many things that can be attributed to this, although it cannot be narrowed down to a single factor. Signs of improvement can show as soon as 72 hours, with recovery generally taking 1-3 weeks; some dogs, however, may have a head tilt or little wobble for life. While I do still have a head tilt at this time, I am pleased to share that my episode did not affect my spirit! I remain the biggest smiler, sweetest boy, and gentlest lovebug. I am so excited to have found my forever home with one of our longtime staff members!”
