Wallace

From his Geezer Guardian: “On March 2, 2024, my friend and I were blessed with a new family member; Wallace, a 10-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Wallace was super shy and anxious when we first met, but he came over to us eventually, and then laid down on my foot. We knew then that he was coming home with us! Wallace settled in quickly and before we knew it we were celebrating his 11th birthday with cake and candles. He was a quiet shadow, who appeared, like a Ninja, wherever we were. Wallace was scared of the outdoors, but with gentle encouragement, he grew comfortable with our back yard, and was soon observed to be walking the periphery, smelling the flowers, marking his territory, and rolling in the grass. He was a good buddy when I gardened, staying at my side, or watching over me from the deck. Wallace enjoyed hanging out with us in the den, watching television and snoozing on one of two doggie beds as well as on the cool wooden floor. He learned how to shake paws to get treats so, being the ever so hopeful dog, he frequently offered us his paw. Wallace was a gentle, quiet, loving, amusing, geezer-puppy. Even though he was in our lives just under 4 months, and his illness came upon him quickly, taking him from us in the quiet of the night… Wallace still left his pawprints on our hearts. Wallace, we love you honey and hope you found your way across Rainbow Bridge to frolic in the soft green grass, with all the other furry, feathery and scaly lovebugs who have blessed our lives. RIP sweet Wallace.”
